New eBook shop coming very soon!

Yesterday I spent approx 10 hours sorting out my eBooks and making sure they all have front cover graphics and documentation about what the books are about. I intent to slowly(about 10 a day) populate my eBay sellers account with products and see what happens.

I also need to move the shop this coming weekend because the free hosting account I set up to test this site will run out on September 8th. I will move the shop and put content in there soon. I have already uploaded all the zipped eBook files to my server. I have decided to take it slowly and save the templates I use so that I can simply re list quickly with correct images etc.

The 30 Day Challenge has been great but it has meant that I have had to put on hold - It will be great to finish the sites already on their way. I dodn't like leaving before but soon. - I'll be back

Toy Soldiers

I had to give alot of thought today about the content for the 30 Day Challenge, I also came up with some good eBook titles - well at least I think they are good.

There is a model shop in Plymouth which specializes in toy soldiers! Well I call them toy soldiers but I'm sure the middle aged men who frequent this shop would argue the point. I don't know what they do exactly in this shop apart from selling models but they are often full to bursting point and with people sitting down.

I think they must be playing strategy games or re-enacting historical battles. I will have to go in this weekend and ask the shop keeper. Anyway i thought this might make a good information product or an online shop. More research needed I think.

My First eBook

I'm well on my way to writing my first eBook. It's called "Web Hosting Secrets Revealed" and as the title suggests is all about web hosting and domain name registration. It includes everything you need to know to get the best hosting on the web and also how to set up your own profitable hosting company. A friend of mine from Romania has designed a cover for it. The cover isn't finished yet but I'll let you see a sneak preview of it:

I think he's made a pretty good job - of course it has got to be made into what looks like an image of a 3D book with edges and corners. I spent the normal amount of time on the PC today about 12 hours but have got loads done. Tomorrow is the start of the 30 Day Challenge which I'm looking forward to. I'm writing a diary of these events which will be made into my second book.

Transformers

Is it a bit early to start to say what is going to big this Christmas? No I don't think so - there's going to be alot of merchandise surrounding the film "Transformers" But I think that will have worn itself out by the big day. What we must keep out eyes open for and our ears to the ground is the "buzz" the frenzy that pushes goods out the door and and our servers crashing with information overload... Where I can hear you scream...well there's the usual places like "stumbleupon" or Digg
there might even me some mention on myspace or facebook. If you get an idea about a film/product etc see how many people are linking to sites about these using Google.

When you think you have found a Buzz, that's the time to create sites with the relevant keywords and don't for get to create a blog for every site just to make it Viral and if you can even use ebay to increase the viral circles!!!

I can hear many of you saying "what the heck is he on about now" all will be revealed tomorrow.

30 day challenge and NEW EBOOK BEING RELEASED SOON

Hi Everyone

I'm taking part in this 30 day challenge which is a global challenge about Internet marketing - I know it probably sounds boring to the outsider but honestly it's not....It starts on the 1st of August but this week is called pre-season and we're being given tips about different software that we will need and where to download and install them ready for the start of the challenge.

I'm using one of those new software packages right now to write this blog - it's called "ScribeFire" and it really saves alot of time loging into the different blogs you have (surely you have more than one on the go don't you?) It's a FireFox Plugin and opens a half page frame in the browser where you can post to any of your blogs. It really seems to work too. A simple WYSIWYG interface like all blog software has anyway and the ability to jump between blogs without the task of inputing user name and password etc. It really does save alot of clicks which can't be bad.

Regards
Ian

Digital Blitz eBooks on Hold!

Yes, unfortunately I have had to put the ebook shop on the back burner for a few weeks while I get my hosting company up and running and the "SuperSite" set up with all the relevant prices in and links working. In the SuperSite bumf it suggests that one could have a hosting company up and running and ready to go within the day!!! I'm here to tell you it can not even if you have done it before and it wasn't new; it would still take you nearer a week and that's without SEO and search engine submissions. I really know now why I have heard it say so many times about hosting that one needs "Root Access" because without it you are at the mercy of your hosting provider and you also don't have the original documents in which to alter and customize. I had to rely on changing the look of the site using just a browser interface and although this might be the way to go for newbies it's certainly NOT ideal. any way take a look at the site so far.

Google Checkout an Amazing Price

I've been researching different payment methods for the ebook shop and for my hosting company and found paypal to be one of the more expensive at £20 a month, up to 3.5% and 25p per item sold!!! Then I went to world pay and was stunned at the cost - definitely not a contender. 2CO not bad at $49 setup fee and 25p and %2% an item. Then I found Googles new service and was blown away at the cost - no monthly amount, no initial set up fee and only 15p and 1.5% per item. I was so surprised that I had to read the the text about four times before I believed it. It's not just the cheap cost though it's the name! every one who surfs the net has heard of Google and know how large the company is and how reliable etc. I am convinced it is the best way to go for any new business and even for established on line businesses it surely makes sense to add another payment method for your company and no, I'm not on commission from Google.

Long days at the computer!!!

I seem to be spending at least 15 hours a day at my computer but I am learning so much about web design and SEO. I've spent time recently on Google's "web master central" pages. I have created and uploaded a site map with the aid of this site

eBook shop is open

Hi All

I've spent the last couple of days setting up a content management software called "Joomla" which also has an e Cart included and so is an ideal way to set up any e commerce site on the web. You can have a quick look if you like but be warned it isn't finished yet; the address is: http://www.digitalblitz.co.uk/Joomla.

I am already at the number 2 position in Google even though i haven't re-submitted the domain name to any search engine.

I intent to sell e books and software from this site but because It has gone so well and the results are so impressive I have decided to offer a e commerce web site development. Initially thought eBay to see what the response is.

Well that's all for now folks
